Dr. Mushegh Rafayelyan
Mushegh Rafayelyan obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees at Yerevan State University (Armenia) in 2010 and 2012 respectively. In 2015 he obtained a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the same university (Thesis: "Optical properties of anisotropic metamaterials and metamaterial based cholesteric liquid crystals"). In 2017 he obtained a PhD in Lasers, Materials and Nanoscience from University of Bordeaux (France) (Thesis: "Singular beam shaping from spin-orbit flat optics", supervised by Etienne Brasselet).
Since 2018 he is a postdoctoral researcher in Laboratoire Kastler-Brossel, at Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS, Paris), in the group of Sylvain Gigan, working on optical computing.
In general, his research interests focus on beam shaping, optical imaging, optical computing and machine learning, light-matter interactions, liquid crystal topological defects, singular optics, and nonlinear optics.
