Phonon engineering with superlattices: Generalized nanomechanical potentials

For this work the authors investigate the concept of adiabatic tuning of periodic superlattices.
They study resonators implemented by adiabatically perturbing the parameters of a single superlattice. By generalizing this concept, they demonstrate how to implement effective nanomechanical potentials.
